Sarah Brucia Breitenfeld receives Excellence in Teaching Award!

海角网 PhD candidate Sarah Brucia Breitenfeld received the highly competitive , given to only two graduate students in all of UW-Seattle. This award was created "to recognize the contributions of graduate student instructors to the scholarship of teaching and learning."

Here's how Sarah's excellence was described:

After taking one of Sarah鈥檚 classes, many students sign up for more 鈥 and some even decide to major or minor in classics. Whether they鈥檙e teaching etymology or mythology, Sarah brings material to life with historical and cultural context 鈥 for example, concluding each Latin class with a mini-lecture on daily life in Rome. One of their fellow teaching graduate students writes, 鈥淚 have been inspired by Sarah鈥檚 incredible work ethic and powerful ability to curate a course in a resoundingly effective way.鈥
